Running + Sports Coaching
Run Coaching
Whether you’re training for your first 5K, getting back into running after an injury, or trying to build mileage without constantly feeling beat up, we can help you train smarter.
Our run coaching in Denver combines gait analysis, strength training, and individualized running programming based on your goals, experience, and current fitness level. We’ll look at how you’re moving, where your training may be breaking down, and what you actually need to keep progressing.
The goal is simple: help you run more consistently, stay healthy, and feel confident in your training.
Sports Coaching
Athletes need more than a generic workout plan. Our sports coaching focuses on building the strength, power, movement quality, and conditioning that actually carry over to your sport.
Brett has a collegiate baseball background and offers baseball-specific coaching for pitchers and hitters, along with strength and performance training for athletes who want to move better and perform at a higher level.
Whether you’re preparing for a season, returning from an injury, or just trying to get stronger for your sport, we’ll build the program around what you actually need.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. Get Back offers running coaching in Denver for beginners, recreational runners, and more experienced athletes. We can help with things like building mileage, improving consistency, preparing for a race, returning after an injury, or just figuring out why running keeps beating you up.
-
Running coaching can include gait analysis, strength training, running programming, and help with pacing, mileage, and recovery. The exact plan depends on what you’re training for and where you’re starting. We’re not interested in handing everyone the same generic program.
-
Yes. This is one of the areas where Get Back is a little different. Because we also provide physical therapy and strength training, we can help bridge the gap between rehab and actually getting back to running. That usually means gradually rebuilding strength, tolerance, mileage, and confidence instead of just waiting until something stops hurting.
-
A gait analysis looks at how you move while running and helps us identify things that may be affecting efficiency, comfort, or performance. We may look at things like stride, cadence, foot contact, trunk position, and how your body handles load. The goal is not to chase a “perfect” running form. It’s to figure out what actually matters for you.
-
Not at all. Some people are training for a 5K or half marathon. Others just want to start running again without feeling wrecked after every run. We can build the plan around whatever your actual goal is.
-
Yes. Running is a skill, but it also requires strength. A good strength program can help improve your ability to handle mileage, hills, speed work, and the repetitive stress that comes with running. We usually focus on lower-body strength, trunk control, and the areas that matter most for your running goals.
-
Yes. We commonly work with runners dealing with recurring knee pain, shin pain, hip pain, Achilles issues, or other overuse problems. If something needs a physical therapy evaluation first, we can handle that in-house and then build you back into running.
-
Get Back offers sports performance coaching for athletes who want to improve strength, power, conditioning, and movement quality. We also offer baseball-specific coaching, along with general strength and performance training for athletes returning to sport or trying to take the next step in their training.
-
Yes. We offer baseball-specific coaching for both pitchers and hitters, with an emphasis on movement, strength, power, and performance. The goal is to build the physical qualities that support better performance on the field, not just run athletes through random workouts.
-
Yes. Returning to sport is more than being pain-free. You also need to be strong enough, conditioned enough, and confident enough to handle the demands of your sport again. Our team can help build that progression from rehab into actual sports performance.
-
Yes. We work with younger athletes who want to improve strength, movement, confidence, and sports performance. Training is adjusted based on age, experience, sport, and goals rather than treating a 13-year-old athlete like a smaller adult.
-
That depends on your goals, schedule, and how much independent training you’re already doing. Some athletes work with us once a week, while others benefit from more frequent sessions. We’ll help you figure out what makes sense without overcomplicating it.
Dr. Brett Green
Founder | Physical Therapist & Personal Trainer
Growing up as a three-sport athlete and playing collegiate baseball, I developed a deep passion for movement, performance, and overall well-being. That passion led me to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University, where I honed my expertise in rehabilitation and fitness.
After spending several years in insurance-based clinics, I realized I wanted to offer more to my patients—more time, more personalized care, and more effective solutions for long-term health. That’s why I founded Get Back PT and Performance: to bridge the gap between physical therapy and fitness, helping people move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free.
I provide one-on-one, hour-long sessions tailored to your specific needs, whether you’re recovering from an injury, looking to improve mobility, or striving for peak performance. My goal is to help you reduce pain now so you can improve function and health for the long run.
Let’s work together to build a healthier, stronger you!
