Preparation + Training
Get Back offers sports performance training in Denver for athletes who want to get stronger, move better, and feel more prepared for the demands of their sport.
We work with athletes in pickleball, skiing, field sports, and other recreational or competitive activities using strength training, plyometrics, conditioning, and sport-specific movement. The goal isn’t just to train harder. It’s to build the strength, power, and durability you need to perform well and keep doing the sports you enjoy.
Whether you’re preparing for a season, trying to improve performance, or getting back to sport after time off, we’ll build the program around what your body actually needs.
Frequently Asked Questions

Sports performance training is strength and conditioning built around the demands of your sport. At Get Back, that can include strength, power, speed, conditioning, balance, and sport-specific movement so your training actually carries over to what you do outside the gym.

We work with athletes in a variety of sports, including skiing, pickleball, baseball, running, and field sports. The exact training changes depending on the sport because the demands of skiing are obviously very different from the demands of baseball or pickleball.

It can help you build the strength, control, and capacity your sport demands, which may reduce some common injury risks. We don’t believe there is one magic exercise that makes you “injury-proof,” but being stronger and better prepared usually gives you more room to handle the demands of your sport.
-
Yes. Ski preparation is a great fit for this type of training. We can focus on lower-body strength, single-leg control, power, conditioning, and the ability to tolerate repeated efforts so your legs aren’t completely cooked after your first few runs.
-
Yes. Pickleball may look casual until you actually play it. We can work on lower-body strength, lateral movement, balance, power, and conditioning to help you move better on the court and handle the quick changes of direction that come with the sport.
-
Yes. This is one of the areas where Get Back’s setup is especially useful. If you’re coming back from an injury, we can help bridge the gap between finishing rehab and actually being ready for your sport again.

Regular personal training is usually built around general fitness goals like strength, mobility, and conditioning. Sports performance training takes those same basics and applies them to the specific demands of your sport, including things like speed, power, direction changes, and sport-specific conditioning.
-
Yes. We work with younger athletes who want to get stronger, improve movement quality, and feel more prepared for their sport. Training is based on the athlete’s age, experience, and goals rather than treating every athlete the same.
-
Not at all. A lot of the people we work with are recreational athletes who simply want to ski harder, move better on the pickleball court, play in an adult league, or get back to a sport they enjoy without feeling like their body is holding them back.
-
That depends on your sport, training schedule, goals, and what you’re already doing on your own. For some athletes, once a week works well. Others benefit from more frequent sessions. We’ll help you figure out what actually fits your schedule and training needs.
-
Yes. Strength and power are a big part of most sports, and we use exercises like resistance training, plyometrics, jumping, landing, and other movement drills when they make sense for the athlete. The goal is to build qualities that actually transfer to performance, not just make you tired.
Dr. Brett Green
Founder | Physical Therapist & Personal Trainer
Growing up as a three-sport athlete and playing collegiate baseball, I developed a deep passion for movement, performance, and overall well-being. That passion led me to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University, where I honed my expertise in rehabilitation and fitness.
After spending several years in insurance-based clinics, I realized I wanted to offer more to my patients—more time, more personalized care, and more effective solutions for long-term health. That’s why I founded Get Back PT and Performance: to bridge the gap between physical therapy and fitness, helping people move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free.
I provide one-on-one, hour-long sessions tailored to your specific needs, whether you’re recovering from an injury, looking to improve mobility, or striving for peak performance. My goal is to help you reduce pain now so you can improve function and health for the long run.
Let’s work together to build a healthier, stronger you!
