Powerlifting &
Strength Coaching
In Denver Colorado
You already know how to squat, bench, and deadlift. You probably don’t need someone standing next to you counting reps.
What you may need is a second set of experienced eyes when a lift has stalled, something keeps hurting, or the advice of “just stop lifting for a while” isn’t getting you anywhere.
Get Back offers powerlifting and strength coaching in Denver for established lifters who want to keep getting stronger while working through the aches, injuries, and training problems that tend to show up after years under a barbell.
Our approach combines strength coaching with a physical therapy background, so the answer to pain doesn’t automatically have to be taking your favorite lifts out of the program.
Coaching for Lifters Who Want to Keep Lifting
A nagging back, knee, hip, or shoulder issue doesn’t necessarily mean you need to abandon heavy training.
Sometimes the answer is adjusting load. Sometimes it’s programming. Sometimes your setup or technique needs to change. And sometimes you simply need to rebuild tolerance before pushing numbers again.
We look at the actual problem in the context of your training rather than treating lifting itself as the problem.
That may include:
Squat, bench press, and deadlift technique
Strength programming and progression
Load and fatigue management
Training around pain or previous injuries
Exercise selection and modifications
Bracing and breathing strategies
Returning to heavier lifting after injury
Breaking through strength plateaus
There isn’t one perfect squat stance, deadlift setup, or bracing strategy that works for every lifter. Coaching should fit the person doing the lifting.
When Nagging Injuries Keep Getting in the Way
A lot of experienced lifters end up stuck between two worlds.
Traditional personal training may not understand the demands of serious strength training, while traditional rehab can sometimes feel disconnected from the fact that your goal is to get back under a heavy barbell.
Get Back is built to bridge that gap.
If pain is affecting your squat, bench, or deadlift, we can look at your training history, current program, movement, strength, recovery, and symptoms to figure out what actually needs to change.
The goal isn’t just to get you pain-free enough for everyday life. It’s to help you build back toward the level of training you actually care about.
Evidence-Informed Strength Coaching
Powerlifting has plenty of rules people treat like laws:
“Your knees can’t go there.”
“Your back has to look exactly like this.”
“You need to brace this way.”
“If that movement hurts, never do it again.”
Real bodies are more complicated than that.
Our coaching is built around current strength and rehab principles, your individual mechanics, and how you respond to training. We’ll keep what works, change what doesn’t, and avoid rebuilding your entire technique just because something looks slightly different from a textbook example.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. Get Back offers one-on-one powerlifting and strength coaching in Denver for established lifters who want help with programming, technique, performance, or training around persistent aches and injuries.
-
Often, yes. Pain doesn’t automatically mean you need to stop lifting altogether. We may adjust load, volume, range of motion, exercise selection, or technique while gradually building your tolerance back up. The right approach depends on what is actually going on.
-
Yes. We work with lifters dealing with pain during the major barbell lifts. Instead of automatically removing the movement, we look at your technique, programming, recent training load, strength, recovery, and symptoms to determine what makes sense.
-
It can be, but this service is primarily designed for people who already have experience with barbell training. If you know the basics and want more individualized strength coaching, better programming, or help navigating an injury without giving up lifting, this is probably a good fit.
-
Probably not. If your technique is working well, there is no reason to change something just for the sake of making it look different. If a change could improve performance, comfort, or consistency, we’ll test it and see how you respond.
-
Yes. Returning to a heavy squat, bench, or deadlift should be a progression, not a jump from rehab exercises straight back to your old numbers. We can help rebuild training volume, intensity, confidence, and tolerance over time.
-
Powerlifting coaching focuses primarily on your strength training, programming, technique, and performance. Physical therapy becomes more relevant when pain or an injury needs additional evaluation and treatment. Because Get Back offers both, those two sides don’t have to exist in completely separate worlds.
-
Yes. Programming can be built around your current strength, training history, schedule, recovery, injuries, and goals. The idea is to give you a program you can actually progress with, not just hand you a generic percentage spreadsheet.
